River Tour Rampage

Project Backstory

The concept for River Tour Rampage (RTR) was originally conceived during Morgane Keesling’s Introduction to Concept Art class. Since then, it has gone through many iterations. The Creative Guide was one of the projects I completed for my graduate portfolio. I relied heavily on the direction provided by Margaret Kerrison in her book Immersive Storytelling for Real and Imagined Worlds: A Writer’s Guide to complete the Creative Guide. What has resulted is my most detailed (and favorite) attraction concept.

Here’s what the critics are saying about River Tour Rampage:

“This really was a beautifully written script. When we’re talking about storytelling and scriptwriting, this was really nicely and professionally polished and delivered.”
– Adam Bezark, The Bezark Company

“The overall presentation was very well done… It felt a little bit like DCA’s Grizzly River Run, which is a fantastic ride, so that’s a good thing to be compared to.”
– Mike West, Innovations West

“I thought this was a great example of how important story is to our world and how even though it’s not necessarily all in the dialogue or in the writing that it points everything – scenic design, AV design, guest movement design – in the same direction. That’s what story [is] all for. It’s what you see and what you don’t see that creates that psychological absorption into an immersive world.”
– Peter Cliff, Conductr
